Westhampton Beach High School students Rebecca Gutierrez-Haefeli and Ava Kuklis recently attended the inaugural Steinbeck House Writing Workshop in Sag Harbor and heard from Bret Anthony Johnston, bestselling novelist and director of the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas. The students were nominated by their English teachers to attend the workshop for demonstrating an interest in creative writing. They are both avid writers and members of their school’s Seascapes literary arts magazine.
