Message Regarding High School Graduation

Message Regarding High School Graduation thumbnail172618
Thank you for your support of our 2020-2021 budget. It is through our continued partnership that our Westhampton Beach students are afforded a well-rounded education. As we all are aware, this school year has been unique. Many of our annual milestones and celebrations have either been canceled or reimagined, including high school graduation.

Currently, our administrative team is working to finalize plans for multiple ceremonies to honor our Class of 2020. Our students have worked incredibly hard these past 13 years and we want to honor them in the best way possible – together and with their families present. Ultimately, however, we must follow the guidelines set forth by Gov. Cuomo, which at present limit an in-person graduation to a total of 150 people. If the guidelines are revised or the attendance cap is lifted prior to our graduation date, we will revisit and rearrange our plans as best as possible.

We understand and sympathize with the frustrations of our seniors and our families. This is not the ending we imagined for the Class of 2020. However, their accomplishments as individuals and a class are still important. As we work to honor our students, we welcome you to congratulate our seniors and wish them the best in their future endeavors.

Again, we thank you for your continued support.
