More than 60 Westhampton Beach Middle School students enjoyed a festive evening of gingerbread house making as part of the middle school’s first virtual gingerbread competition fundraiser.

The event not only provided a fun family activity for middle school students, but also raised $200 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Eighth grader Esvin Alvardo, whose gingerbread house was adorned by plenty of icing, candy and confectioners’ sugar, was voted the winner by middle school teachers and awarded a $25 gift card.
