Westhampton Beach Elementary School fifth graders teamed up to test their STEM skills by designing and dropping candy parachutes. The activity came after a reading of “Chocolate Pilot” by Gail Halvorsen, in which the main character brings happiness to children in Germany after World War II by dropping parachutes filled with candy from his aircraft.
