Using their interior design skills, Westhampton Beach Middle School students recently fabricated their dream bedroom inside a shoebox. The students in Katie Rafferty’s family and consumer sciences class used a variety of materials to design rooms in the school’s library that included small-scale beds, shelving, rugs and wall decor. The project not only focused on design concepts, including the use of warm and cool colors, but also creativity, brainstorming and problem-solving.
