Westhampton Beach High School Chamber Singers The Westhampton Beach High School Chamber Singers is a select, co-curricular ensemble chosen by audition from among approximately 170 vocalists in the high school choral program. Under the direction of Mr. Eric Rubinstein, the Chamber Singers have become highly respected in our community; having performed at concerts, various school events, county-wide engagements and community outreach programs. In addition to their local performances, the Chamber Singers have had the honor of collaborating with other distinguished groups such as the Herricks High School Chamber Choir, the East End Arts Council and the SUNY Potsdam Pointercounts (2011 ICCA Competition finalists). They have also had the privilege of working with such artists as Dr. Mark Bennett (Harvard Pro Musica), Dr. David Rayl (Michigan State University) and conductor/composer, Eric Whitacre. The WHBHS Chamber Singers are known for performing an array of music, from Renaissance to Top 40, specializing in a cappella literature. Committed to performing the works of contemporary composers, the Chamber Singers have debuted works by such composers as Daniel Braunstein, Brandon Ulrich and the London-based, Paul Ayres. Among their many accomplishments, the Chamber Singers have consistently earned highest ratings at various evaluation festivals. They also have a reputation for earning Gold & Gold with Distinction at NYSSMA Major Organization. This past year, by audition and invitation only, the Chamber Singers were selected to perform at Carnegie Hall under the direction of world-renown conductor/composer, Eric Whitacre.
